Starting Year with SAMS: 2018

Calling to Ministry: Steve and Debbie began their mission work in 2004 as short term missionaries. They served on teams that did construction projects internationally throughout Middle America and domestically in the US. In 2009 they were part of a team that traveled to San Buenaventura, Honduras to build a school at a children's home. It didn't take long to fall in love with the children. Over the next several years they returned to the children's home many times. They developed close relationships with the children and staff.

In 2014, while returning from their latest visit, Steve and Debbie individually felt a strong calling to make a stronger commitment. They felt led to become full-time missionaries living with the children and working with the staff. Over the next two years, through a discernment process, God reinforced His call for them to serve Him in Honduras several times and in many ways. He opened doors and removed obstacles along the way. On July 1st 2016 they arrived in Honduras to begin their work with The LAMB Institute.

Vision: Steve and Debbie's vision is to see children empowered with Christ’s redeeming love and skills to support themselves when they grow out of the children's home. Debbie teaches the children sewing, knitting and crafting skills. Steve has a carpentry shop where he provides items for the children's home. He seeks to give the children carpentry skills they can use for the rest of their lives.

Personal Points of Interest: Debbie's interests include knitting, sewing, quilting and drawing. Steve enjoys reading and recently received his Diploma in Biblical Studies.
